And I, I believe that this is the most economical and warm form of the foundation. It will not be killed with neither a warmed Swedish cooker, nor a warm basement floor in Canada.
So, as I did in my house, the Finns are made only in hard-to-reach and remote places, where you do not drive heavy equipment and it is impossible to work with concrete. My house is in the suburbs, and if the Finns saw him, the only verdict, which they carried out something like this:

Electric warm floors did not want at all — why is extra kilowatts to wind. Pulling the pipes inside the tree — pah, ugh, ugh. The slightest leakage and have to open all the floors immediately otherwise the house rotes «on the root.»
What to do?
The only option is to insulate on the old Finnish system, which operated until 1962.
And, you know, it was a solution in the correctness of which I am convinced every time our domestic Santa Claus knocks the staff on a street thermal man and he falls in shock to -30 and even lower. Even a vulnerable, technical, the Altai door does not cope with such a crumble — freezes. And in the house, at least henna, we walk barefoot on the linoleum (our slippers are not in honor, and there are no big numbers in them).

How do you traditionally insulate the floor of the lags in Russia?

But the most important difference in insulation there and we are not in the thickness or number of layers, but in the insulation itself. The fact is that we have in the floors, as a rule, lay the rolled insulation with a density of 12-25 kg / m3.
Finns very rarely use a rolled insulation. Even in the floors, where the Ministry of Service does not carry the load, they laid the slate «parks».
