What is warmer: tree + minvat or concrete + foam: not by passport, but in real life.

In an interesting way it turns out that, in fact, it belongs not to me, and not even two, but three houses.

The first is the one in which our family lives. This is the most ordinary house from the bar, which was insulated with 10 cm mineral wool. The house is spacious, warm and very cozy. Cozy so much that the whole family categorically does not like to sleep outside his walls. So we are used to it.

The second house is our workshop, which is made from the slag block (40 cm thick) and is insulated with polystyrene foam (extrusion) thick, as you have already guessed — 10 cm. And, interestingly, it is also warm and comfortable. Almost all days we spend in it in it (I even slept a couple of times when there is no strength to come back home with a cold winter night).

The third house is a new workshop, converted from a nearby garage. It is also made of slag block (40 cm thick) and is insulated with ten centimeter plates of the insulation, though from the basalt.

All this good is heated by one bucky gas boiler by 24 kilowatta, which gives the same temperature for the entire system. The number of batteries and sections was calculated on the same scheme with a margin of 30% in case, especially cold in winter, the southern Urals suddenly want to rename into the Italian province of Dubnyachello.

Despite the fact that the winters every year are all warmer and warmer every year, but a couple of times, Grandfather Moroz gives all the South Urals to see. So the question is:

What house is warmer?

For us very relevant! But that is not all. The fact is that the task of thermal insulation is not only to maintain the indoor rooms from the cold, but also to protect them from the summer heat. And again, every year we have all the hotter and hotter. Temperatures in +35 and +40 are not uncommon. In the summer, the South Ural becomes a branch of Krasnodar.

Well, it’s time to answer the question:

What house with what insulation is warmer?

Attention correctly:

In weatherless weather, they are equally warm. The difference begins to felt in a strong wind. No matter how you warmed the wooden house, no matter how bad the gaps, the strong wind will still be slightly, but still blow warm.

And when you leave the workshop and you go to the wooden house, you know — there was warmer. And there is a difference even between two workshops: warmer where the walls are insulated with extrusion. Literally on 3 degrees, but warmer.

And how in summer?

Very hot in summer when the thermometer is practically melting,

It turns out that despite the formation and not such a big warmth, in a wooden house is still more comfortable, so he «breathes» with his inhabitants.
